A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Strategic Procurement Specialist within Siemens Energy’s Aeroderivative Gas Turbine procurement team, you will play a key role in developing and running a competitive, transparent, and sustainable supply chain. Your day will involve collaborating with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive productivity, quality and digitalization. You will be responsible for supplier negotiations, contract management, and strategic sourcing to ensure the procurement function contributes to affordable clean energy.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Implement commodity strategies and define local/regional sourcing strategies by analyzing market trends, identifying new suppliers and leverage insights to optimize procurement strategy.
  • Lead sourcing actives, projects and negotiations for complex aerospace and industrial type components to optimize cost opportunities and contract coverage and undertake contractual and price negotiations with key suppliers. Support internal procurement transformation programs.
  • Plan negotiations, define awarding strategies, and prepare sourcing board approvals while ensuring alignment with commodity strategy.
  • Manage relationships with assigned suppliers, contributing to EcoSystem commodity strategy and developing a preferred supplier list. Conduct regular business review with strategic suppliers.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement risks while implementing strategic measures.
  • Ensure a close cooperation with internal customers to ensure customer care and early involvement. Foster usage of e-procurement tools with the vision to enhance data, increase automation, drive standardization of management information dashboards, and encourage supplier collaboration.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree supply chain management, business administration, or in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing/commodity management with a complex, and global environment.
  • Excellent commercial, contractual, and project management acumen. Familiar with component manufacturing process and quality standards. Experience working with a supply supplier base in a matrix organization.
  • Knowledge of working with a global supplier base, in a matrix environment.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Outstanding Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • Analytical skills, proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and SAP. Strong negotiation skills.
