Location - Travel to Sites UK Wide

A snapshot of your day

A member of the site management team reporting on site to the Site Manager as part of the Installation and Commissioning team. We are an internal function supporting the business groups of Grid Access, HVDC and SEA, installing product and engineering solutions to build and upgrade substations onshore and offshore.

The Supervisor will have overall control and duty of care for Siemens staff and contractors deployed on their current projects comprising Chargehands, Wiremen, Fitters, Fitter’s Mates, Technicians, and apprentices. They will also hold responsibility for installation activities delivering the product and solutions SAFELY to TIME , COST and QUALITY requirements.

How you’ll make an impact

A Site Supervisor represents the Site Manager on site and therefore has full responsibility for the day-to-day control of their team or team’s activities on site comprising key areas such as:

  • Implementation of Site Management Policies and work to procedures within Siemens Site Management Manual.
  • Compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality plans and know their duties to be discharged in each case
  • Assist / produce method Statements and Risk Assessments and implement accordingly.
  • Participate in weekly safety walks and site safety meetings as required by the Site Manager, proactively raising hazards, and pointing out optimal processes
  • Operate within a budget and delivery to programme defined by Installation Management / Commercial team.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment allocated to the activities are utilised and maintained optimally.
  • Promote a culture within their teams of openness and willingness to listen to others when best practice is shared.
  • Actively manage completion of administration task activities allocated to you, your team(s) to required timescales and ensure compliance adhered to at all times.
  • Be responsible for setting your team(s) to work following the agreed procedure. Deliver toolbox talks, daily point of work risk assessments and safety briefings.

What you bring:

  • CCNSG Safety Passport.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS or LATS
  • IOSH Managing Safety preferred.Minimum NVQ Level 3 or demonstrated relative experience.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Proactive attitude to problem solving.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Full driving Licence
  • Experience in HVDC, Electrical or related/similar projects
