We currently have an opportunity for a Service Engineer to join our team based in Sydney. The Service Engineer is responsible for design, engineering, commissioning, service & maintenance of Control and other Siemens automation systems. The role also requires sales and tendering support and project management skills with demonstrated team leadership experience, offering excellent career progression opportunities.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Work under the company quality management system and take responsibility for HS&E
  • You shall have the flexibility to work overtime based on workload and work both independently and within a team environment with the ability to lead the team
  • Troubleshooting activities on site or via remote services to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution and implement corrective actions
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis; troubleshooting methodology; detailed problem documentation; other requirements in support of Problem Management.
  • Coordinates and provides user training on supported systems.
  • Supported systems may include operating systems (Linux and Windows), network hardware, server hardware, security tools, monitoring tools, Web servers, Application servers, Integration servers, and other applications or systems.
  • Configuration, testing and implementation of Cyber Security solutions in an OT environment.
  • System Administrators design, analyze, install, configure, upgrade, test, document, monitor and maintain software and hardware in support of a secure operational technology (OT) and networks for ultra-high availability environments. 
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and provide technical support for hardware and software systems that support power plant/utilities control systems.
  • Design, develop, factory acceptance testing and onsite commissioning/upgrading of hardware and software solutions using Ominivse T3000, PCS7, S7/WinCC and other Siemens’ automation platforms.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, electrical, electronics, controls engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years professional experience in controls, digitalization or cyber security systems design, engineering, service or maintenance. 
  • Work on a roster for after-hours on-call support.
  • Knowledge and experience on PLC, SCADA or DCS control systems applications.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge in configuring, installing, and troubleshooting industrial communication protocols for third-party interfaces (OPC, Modbus or DNP3.0).
  • Good understanding of cyber security solutions and experience with configuring, Installing, testing and upgrading industrial controls networks, firewall, routers VPN remote access solutions.
  • Excellent technical writing skills with focus on design document, inspection and test plans and commissioning reports.
  • Full working rights in Australia and the ability to travel for the execution of site based projects
  • Willingness to travel frequently within Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific
