Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer – Service Engineering (Wind Turbines)
Location: Chennai
Department: Engineering / Service Technology
Reporting To: Engineering Manager / Technical Lead
Job Purpose: The Mechanical Engineer will provide technical expertise and support for the service and maintenance of wind turbine mechanical systems, including towers, elevators, bolted joints, hydraulics, yaw & pitch systems, and other mechanical components. The role will focus on large corrective actions, component replacements, and ensuring turbine reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide mechanical engineering support for on-site troubleshooting and corrective maintenance of wind turbine main components.
Execute and supervise large corrective technical interventions, including main component replacements.
Analyze mechanical failures and provide technical solutions to prevent recurrence.
Support service teams in the maintenance and repair of towers, elevators/lifts, bolted joints, hydraulics, yaw, pitch systems, and other mechanical assemblies.
Prepare technical reports, documentation, and recommendations for corrective actions.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, OEMs, and vendors for technical solutions and spare parts.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality procedures, and project timelines.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support service process optimization.

Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Minimum [4 to 5] years of experience in wind turbine service, maintenance, or mechanical engineering.
Hands-on experience with wind turbine mechanical systems, including towers, elevators, hydraulics, bolted joints, yaw & pitch systems.
Experience with large corrective actions and main component replacements.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills.
Excellent communication and coordination skills for working with multi-disciplinary teams.
Willingness to travel to wind farm sites as required.
