We are currently seeking a proactive and diligent Purchase Order Expediter to join our dynamic team! The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely delivery of materials to meet our production requirements. By effectively managing and expediting open purchase orders, this position will be instrumental in maintaining the flow of materials vital for uninterrupted production processes.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Act as an order expediter to ensure the timely fulfillment of production requirements, adjusting priorities as necessary to meet changing demands.
  • Regularly run from SAP and analyze open purchase order reports to identify and address potential delays or issues that could impact production schedules. Update order confirmations tabs and maintain accurate records in SAP and the SFM tool, ensuring that all data is current and reflects real-time order statuses.
  • Apply Material Requirements Planning (MRP) messages to adjust delivery dates for purchased parts, effectively pushing or pulling dates to align with production needs. Proactively expedite materials by coordinating with suppliers, ensuring that all required materials are delivered on time and according to specifications.
  • Resolve a range of issues related to receiving and invoicing, employing both basic and complex problem-solving skills to address discrepancies and ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain close and effective communication with buyers, providing them with support and assistance in their daily activities and interactions with suppliers.
  • Timely reporting of partner concerns to the appropriate personnel, ensuring that potential challenges are resolved before they disrupt production schedules. Monitor and ensure on-time delivery of materials. Expedite internally and externally supplier materials to ensure production goals are meet.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (desired) / High School Degree Diploma
  • 1-5 years of Procurement/Supply Chain experience preferred, with a strong understanding of supply chain and production processes.
  • Proficiency in SAP and any Supply Chain Management (SCM) tools or similar ERP system. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel) to analyze and manage open purchase order reports
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to run and interpret reports, identify issues, and implement effective solutions. Problem-solving skills, with the capacity to address both basic and complex issues related to receiving and invoicing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with both internal teams and external suppliers. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and consistently keeps others informed and initiates active exchange of knowledge
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and adjusting to changing production demands. A proactive approach to work, with a focus on continuous improvement and the ability to anticipate and address potential issues before they arise

Switchgears Americas – Grid Technologies CB factory located in Richland, MS is founded in 1973, we offer our customers products and services to transfer energy efficiently ranging from expansion and replacing to upgrading. Richland having team of 245 energized employees across all functions. Purchasing is having diverse, experienced team working for Richland business carrying out various activities including transactional purchasing.
