The Project Engineer will be part of the Europe compressor service organization. In collaboration with the Europe sales and project team as well as the Global Centers of Competences, the Project Engineer will be responsible for leading all technical aspect of service projects from bid to finalization. With the understanding of customer’s needs, the Project Engineer will generate customized technical proposals for services and support the execution with in- and external partners to a successful completion.

Our Distributed team in Gas Services provides customized service solutions to our Oil & Gas, Industrial and Power Generation customers. In our Europe service team, we are looking for a Project Engineer who will actively lead all technical activities during the preparation and execution of service projects.
How you will make an impact
You will be responsible for the technical scope during the quotation and execution phase for designated projects
- In the quotation phase:
- Build good understanding of customer’s needs and support the local team in defining the project scope.
- Perform site surveys and technical clarifications to bring together relevant information.
- Coordinate with internal partners (engineering, field services and service centers) to define the technical scope.
- Manage the defined scope with local partners, when vital.
- Create a realistic schedule with an optimized lead time for respective scope to be implemented.
- Generate the technical content of quotations with defined in- and external partners.
- Support Sales in securing orders by active participation through-out the sales process.
- Support technical issues, where vital with the support from the Engineering and Technical Support teams in the Center of Competence.
- In the execution phase:
- Working together with the designated local Project Manager, responsible for performing the projects at the right quality and within the committed timeline and budget,
- Generate vital preparation documentation, such like engineering documentation, drawings, comprehensive work-packs, risk assessments for site and shop overhauls.
- Align with appropriate Global Engineering and Manufacturing locations and adopt standard processes and technical innovations.
- Identify qualified resources and partners needed for the project implementation, including subcontractors, temporary and permanent SE staff and own or 3rd party service shops.
- Coordinate the technical aspects of the scope with internal partners and selected external business partners.
- Prevent or mitigate, with Engineering and in support of the project, any technical challenge during the execution of the works.
- Participate in close-out meetings and apply lessons learned methodologies for quality improvement purposes.
What you bring
- More than 10 years experience in Project Management, Project Engineering and/or Engineering within a technical environment.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
- In depth knowledge of/experience with compression equipment
- Very good command of English both written & spoken, possibly combined with French, German and/or Dutch.
- Broad technical understanding of equipment and service / repair activities to optimally interact with in- and external stakeholders.
- Analytical thinking, decision making, result oriented and good communication skills.
- Flexibility, creativity and an open-minded view.
