A Snapshot of Your Day

Join our dynamic team as a Process Engineer in Gas Treatment, where you will play a vital role in the success of our new hydrogen projects!

In this start-up environment, characterized by personal responsibility and flat hierarchies, you will take ownership of process engineering design for both reference plant development and project-specific adjustments. Your expertise will shine as you prepare detailed design concepts for gas treatment in electrolysis plants, develop P&IDs and plant concepts, and create component data sheets and automation specifications. Additionally, you will prepare customer documentation, conduct safety analyses within HAZOP studies, and provide manufacturing support while technically qualifying subcontractors.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Provide process engineering design and simulation for electrolysis plants, focusing on the compression and gas treatment of hydrogen and oxygen product gases, while developing specifications for auxiliary systems like compressors and gas cleaning.
  • Create specifications for compressors and gas cleaning systems in accordance with valid codes and standards, including the preparation of user documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain P&ID diagrams, associated equipment data sheets, and measuring point lists in COMOS.
  • Collaborate with customers, subcontractors, and other engineering fields, including layout planning, electrical engineering, and automation.
  • Support and implement HAZOP studies and safety analyses, coordinating with plant operators, notified bodies, and technical experts.
  • Participate in the technical qualification of subcontractors, monitor manufacturing milestones, and complete factory acceptance tests.
  • Provide technical documentation for proposal preparation based on customer specifications and support process design work during project execution, clarifying project-specific adjustments with subcontractors and customers.
  • Develop operating concepts and assist in the erection and commissioning of compressor plants and auxiliary systems for electrolysis plants.

What You Bring

  • Educational Background: A master’s degree or equivalent experience in process engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Knowledge of Standards: Familiarity with codes and standards such as DIN, ASME, API, ANSI, NEMA, and NFPA, along with expertise in operational concepts, I&C systems, and DCS specifications.
  • Engineering Tools: Proficient in engineering tools for process engineering.
  • Simulation Experience: Experience in fluid and process simulations and process design.
  • Team Collaboration: Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, complemented by effective communication abilities.
  • Intercultural Sensitivity: Willingness to travel and fluency in both English.
  • Passion for Decarbonization: A genuine enthusiasm for energy transition and decarbonization initiatives.
  • Agility and Flexibility: Comfort in a fast-paced environment that values personal responsibility and initiative.
