A Snapshot of Your Day
The Industrial Cybersecurity Expert (ICSE) is the primary cybersecurity point of contact at the four Large Generator manufacturing sites in the US: Charlotte NC, Rural Hall NC, Fort Payne AL, and Gibsonton FL. This role ensures cybersecurity requirements are met in manufacturing environments through close collaboration with the local IT teams, factory departments, and cybersecurity peers.
How You’ll Make an Impact
The Siemens Energy manufacturing and refurbishment sites are essential to our operations. Your expertise and contributions will make a significant impact by supporting existing cybersecurity measures, providing technical recommendations for improvements, and implementing new security features. Your contributions will also include but are not limited to:
- Assisting in vulnerability management, incident handling, and supporting disaster recovery and business continuity management and performing asset compliance checks and risk assessments of OT and IT assets.
- Driving and implementing industrial cybersecurity measures for OT/IT at the assigned site(s): Charlotte, Rural Hall, Fort Payne, and Gibsonton.
- Supporting the manufacturing organization and IT teams to ensure cybersecurity requirements are met.
- Acting as the point of contact for industrial cybersecurity, liaising with the Industrial Cybersecurity Officer (ICSO) and Principal Cybersecurity Officer (PCSO).
- Supporting the qualification of cyber-secure suppliers.
- Participating in the architecture and design phases of manufacturing/production-related equipment, systems, and solutions, while supporting cybersecurity communities within the organization and leading and supporting periodic audits of OT/IT systems with evidentiary focus.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field with 10+ years professional cybersecurity experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment and with the following industry certifications: CISSP, CRISC, GICSP. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level and vice versa.
- Solid understanding of OT/IT technologies (e.g., IIoT, OT hardware, machine controls, DNC concepts and sensors) and security concepts (e.g., restricted VLANs, network segmentation).
- Good understanding of manufacturing and refurbishment processes.
- Proficiency in secure architecture and design principles, risk management, incident and vulnerability handling, and business recovery and continuity.
- Familiarity with international and national regulations for OT/IT industrial cybersecurity standards.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with shop floor personnel and other team members. With a value and dedicated personality. And experience in project management with complex collaborator settings.
Ability to travel up to 25%

About the Team
The Industrial Cybersecurity Expert role will exist in a matrix organization, primarily reporting into the Manufacturing Operations team. This will ensure close alignment with factory needs and objectives. The role will also have secondary reporting lines into the IT and Cybersecurity teams, for technical alignment. Within these teams, you will regularly work with manufacturing leadership, engineers, maintenance technicians, IT specialists, and cybersecurity specialists.
