A Snapshot of Your Day

As member of the Operations team, the High Voltage Test Cells (HVTC) Manager is responsible for supervising the operation and maintenance of HVTC. This role involves qualifying and releasing newly trained employees to run test cells, ensuring strong product and process knowledge, and keeping test cell equipment according to the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency. The manager will work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams.

How You’ll Make an Impact 

1.Employee Qualification and Training:

Develop and implement training programs for new employees to ensure they are qualified to operate high voltage test cells. Conduct regular assessments and certifications to maintain high standards of competency among test cell operators. Provide ongoing training opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of the team.

2. Product and Process Knowledge:

Maintain a deep understanding of the products being tested and the associated testing processes. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards, technologies, and effective methods for high voltage testing. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure testing processes are aligned with product specifications and requirements.

3. Equipment Maintenance and Upgrades:

Ensure all test cell equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning correctly. Plan and supervise regular maintenance schedules to prevent equipment downtime. Identify and implement vital upgrades to test cell equipment to improve efficiency, accuracy, and safety.

4. Safety and Compliance:

Maintain a high level of consistency with safety protocols and procedures within the test cells. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to high voltage testing. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.

5. Operational Efficiency:

Monitor and analyze test cell performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. Implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of testing operations. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless workflow and accurate completion of testing activities.

6. Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of testing activities, equipment maintenance, and employee qualifications. Prepare and present regular reports on test cell performance, safety, and compliance. Ensure all documentation is up to date and easily accessible for audits and inspections.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in high voltage testing or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of high voltage testing equipment, processes, regulations and safety protocols.
  • Experienced in training and qualifying employees.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
