The organization Strategic Procurement, Direct Material is responsible for developing procurement strategies for key commodities that will ensure Siemens Energy’s driven edge. As Global Sourcing Team Lead of Strategic Procurement team in our Indian sourcing hub, you will be leading a local team of regional commodity managers and be responsible for the development of supply chain and procurement strategies for materials to be sourced from India for our global locations. Commodities include Steel, Metals, Electronics, Mechanical Systems, Forgings, Large Steel Fabrication, Machined Parts etc. This role entails Supplier relationship management to supply to the success of Siemens Energy while crafting additional value beyond classical cost-out.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Manage a team of Regional Commodity Managers for Direct Materials in global matrix interpersonal environment (~ 10 Regional Commodity Managers).
• Optimize assignment of material fields and respective prioritization aligned with global priorities and business requirements.
• Define proficiency requirements, in case of identified gaps, develop and implement career paths and training plan for the team.
• Develop and implement supply chain and procurement strategies (multi-tier supply chains, …) and resulting framework agreements for related materials (e.g., steel, mechanics) with focus on Indian suppliers.
• Ensure a resilient supply chain by innovative supplier relationship management and act as first level of partner concern in supplier relationship, negotiations etc..
• Define and implement efficiency programs / measures to achieve fast implementation and the maximum contribution to the targets in close alignment with collaborators.
• Ensure close partnership with all the collaborators.

What You Bring

• University degree or equivalent experience in a technical or business-related field
• 15 years of demonstrated ability in procurement related management roles, especially in product or solution business and direct materials (e. g. Commodity Management for Steel, Metals) or similar expertise in technical functions
• Excellent Leadership experience and managing change.
• Capability to negotiate and work in different cultures.
• Knowledge of working with a local/regional relevant supplier base.
• Outstanding communication, presentation, and collaborator leadership skills.
• English language skills.
• Position is posted for Pune, India.
