A Snapshot of Your Day
As an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Compliance Specialist you will be a key contributor to our mission of operational perfection and sustainability. Collaborate with manufacturing, contractors, and leadership to ensure compliance with ISO standards, reduce hazards, and promote continuous improvement in EHS initiatives.
This role will be based at our new factory in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, and will initially coincide with the factory’s construction. During this phase, we will focus on developing our processes, refining our offerings, and collaborating closely with a high-performance team.
How You’ll make an Impact
Process Development & Implementation
- Develops, proposes, and implements EHS processes and/or methods.
- Develops and implements environmental programs aligned with regulatory changes and site operations.
Standards Monitoring & Reporting
- Analyzes and monitors adherence to EHS standards and prepares regular internal EHS reporting.
- Prepares external EHS reporting for authorities and internal partners.
- Handles hazardous waste, environmental reporting, and documentation for compliance.
Regulatory & Risk Management
- Analyzes and reports on changes in EHS laws and recommends internal updates.
- Conducts risk assessments, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning.
- Stays on top of regional/local EHS regulations and standards.
Audits & Inspections
- Lead and support internal and external EHS audits and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Collaborate with the accountable EHS officer to address findings and implement corrective actions.
External Reporting
- Prepares and submit regular external EHS reporting for official authorities and internal partners.
Authority Liaison
- Maintain operational contact with external agencies and ensure timely communication.
Training & Coaching
- Deliver EHS training programs for employees and management.
- Mentor employees on safe behaviors and environmental stewardship.
Regulatory Awareness
- Monitor changes in local, regional, and national EHS regulations.
- Ensure organizational compliance and proactively address emerging requirements.
Strategic Contribution
- Monitors and improves EHS targets.
- Support strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts across EHS domains.
Support for EHS Activities
- Assist in the development and rollout of EHS initiatives and campaigns.
- Participate in risk assessments, incident investigations, and hazard identification.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to close EHS gaps and promote Zero Harm culture.
- Support waste management, documentation, and reporting activities.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of direct experience in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) within a manufacturing environment is required. Candidates with more experience may be considered for a higher level.
- BS degree or greater in a technical field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience in EHS and manufacturing is accepted. Certifications will be required to be obtained in specific areas as they relate to auditing, waste management and OSHA programs.
- Proven track record in ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 implementation and compliance.
- Proven understanding of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, DOT, and other relevant regulations.
- Experience in root cause assessments, hazardous waste management, training, quality, and customer interfaces highly desired.
- If not already local to Charlotte, NC, the selected candidate must be willing to relocate
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

The candidate will work in the power transformer plant in Charlotte, NC supporting the market growth for Power Transformers mainly in the USA market.
