A Snapshot of Your Day

During your typical workday you start with a short alignment meeting with other electrical engineers working in a >100 MW sized electrolysis project responsible for the core scope of our system. After discussing a previously identified potential issue with the technical project manager you review the proposal for a rectifier transformer and prepare an answer for the vendor. After lunch you are invited to a meeting with a potential customer in which you explain our power supply solution and align together on the next steps to evaluate the customer´s grid connection requirements. Before the end of your day, you are planning your trip for a scheduled factory acceptance test and in your last activity you are invited to discuss the electrical simulation validation approach and necessary interaction studies with our grid consulting and simulation engineers.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Prepare design adaptations regarding power supply for large electrolysis systems, preparation of specifications / RFQs
  • Development and review of power-supply related design adaptations, vendor selection, supplier support, factory acceptance test of equipment and support of erection and commissioning team
  • Participation in product development and execution projects as electrical systems engineer with focus on MW-sized power supply
  • Assisting in creating proposals for projects to develop competitive and high-quality customer-oriented bids for hydrogen generation plants through coordination of proposal documents and engineering estimates
  • Assisting in performing engineering risk analysis before submitting proposal
  • Collaborating on project installation, commissioning and site activities, clarifying potential issues or providing solutions to correct engineering errors

What You Bring
  • Master’s degree or PhD in electrical engineering, with focus on power engineering or power electronics
  • At least 3 years’ of professional experience in power system design or commissioning, component design or controls with focus on power / rectifier transformers, rectifiers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, cables, bus bars and measuring equipment
  • Experience in project execution, commissioning, proposal and bid preparation, or product development
  • Sound knowledge and experience in the areas electrical power distribution, power electronics and special expertise in DC-technology with double-digit kA currents is an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English (written and spoken), German is a plus
