A Snapshot of Your Day

Our customer base is very diverse, and the energy industry is in a state of extreme transition and growth, so our design team is very busy creating unique solutions for the US market.

We are seeking a Designer/Drafter who is self-motivated, task oriented, and has attention for details. We need someone who is a team player and works independently, has strong communication and computer skills, and the ability to learn new things on the fly. A typical day will have a variety of activities including Computer aided Drafting and Design, acquiring part number, creating manufacturing support documentation, collaborating with engineering department on designs, and helping support shop production as needed.  While there are routine activities, every day brings a different set of challenges. 


How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Electromechanical design
  • Proficient CAD skills
  • Create and review document in SAP
  • Provide assistance/direction to shop floor as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments on designs and documents
  • Be highly detail oriented

 

What You Bring 

  • Associate Degree in Drafting/Design or equivalent industry experience in drafting/CAD design
  • 2-5 years experience
  • Understanding of drafting practices and drawing form control
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and/or Autodesk Inventor Professional is Preferred, experience in electrical industry including control circuits is preferred, Experience with BOM creation in SAP or equivalent is a plus
  • Proficient in Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc..) is required
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

 

About the Team

This drafting/design group is an integral part of the engineering team for the high voltage circuit breaker product that is manufactured in the factory located in Richland, MS USA.  Our team performs the engineering work for product design and order engineering.  We interact heavily with other engineering teams within the Switchgear Americas region that produce like product and are part of the global Products group for Grid Technologies within Siemens Energy, Inc.
