Siemens Energy must orchestrate the movement of goods all around the world. The use of modern IT solutions helps to reduce cost and risk by processing imports, exports or customs classification in an automated manner.

With our IT customs applications we support and enable the global customs strategy in the most digitized and automated way possible! With your understanding of customs processes you will be responsible for translating our customs requirements and defined processes to our IT business partner for implementation, thereby driving and managing the respective implementation project!

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • analyze the customs core processes (such as import, export, classification, solicitation, origin, special customs procedures)
  • visualize processes and discuss these processes with other affected functions (based on the visualized processes)
  • digitalize and automate manual processes in the best possible way or standardize existing customs processes in such a way that the process meets global requirements and can be implemented with a standardized global trade management system.
  • implement requirements derived from the global or regional/national customs processes to the respective customs applications.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree (e.g. in business administration or information management) or equivalent experience as customs expert.
  • 5+ years of experience of working in a customs environment; Candidates with more experience may be eligible for a more senior level position.
  • Solid understanding of the core customs processes
  • an affinity in analyzing existing customs processes and identifying and outlining areas for improvement.
  • Understand the necessary foreign trade data and when it is needed to collaborate with the global trade management system and the corresponding customs process
  • Fluent in English; comfortable speaking German is a plus.

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
