A Snapshot of Your Day
Control Engineer will craft control systems to support Siemens complete range of industrial gas turbine products. This position involves Control System software engineering design from conception to completion for power generation applications. The ideal candidate will have design and field engineering experience in the oil and gas and power generation industry for package and systems engineering.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- To be able to develop solution to replace obsolete equipment/parts too able to maintain the businesses' fleet of gas turbines
- To convert these solutions into generic replacement kits/parts for retrofitting.
- To be able to write complex software modules from philosophy document's or convert obsolete control system into software driven system
- To be able to design/construct new hardware solutions to replace obsolete controls system or upgrade current control systems.
- Identify and rectify problems found during testing of software/hardware and supporting the commissioning team during installation of equipment/software
- Support sales by supplying detailed quotes with regards to engineering times/potential hardware requirements/possible engineering solutions with regards to customer enquires
- Able to offer support and technical assistance to engineers of a lower grad
What You Bring
- Must have BE/BTech in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering or its equivalent with 10+ years of experience including at least 5 years of experience in design, programing, testing of Control Logix/RS 5000/PCS7/S7.
- Masters (ME/MTech) in relevant Engineering areas is an added advantage.
- Knowledge on Lean Six Sigma - Certified Yellow Belt or Green Belt (preferred)
- Candidates with at least 5+ years of relevant experience in the field of Power Generation. Experience with Gas Turbine controls is preferred.
- A team player with strong problem-solving skills and task oriented. This person would preferably be self-motivated, has good time management and willing to learn
- Hydraulic valve positioners and associated instrumentation such as servo coils and LVDTs. Hydraulic turbine trip schemes and over speed protection systems.
- Gas auxiliary systems such as lube oil, control oil, turning gear, etc. Gas Turbine Startup/Shut down sequence and different operational modes. Familiarity with TXP/SPPA T3000, PCS 7 is a plus.
