Are you passionate about combustion technology and eager to make a significant impact in the field? Join Our Innovative Team as a Combustion Engineer!

We are looking for a versatile and dedicated Combustion Engineer to join our dynamic team in our esteemed research and development department. Our department is highly passionate about increasing fuel flexibility, including the use of hydrogen and biofuels. As part of our team of skilled engineers, you will play a crucial role in designing and operating combustion systems that are reliable, robust, and highly efficient.

You will collaborate closely with other fields within the organization to achieve project goals and meet the specifications outlined. You will be encouraged to take an active role in development projects, using both commercial and internally developed tools to analyse solutions and transfer outputs to our customers by attending to the experimental and delivery test.

Our mission is to reduce the emissions level and contribute to zero emissions.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Knowledge in gas turbines and understanding the physics behind performance and reliability is essential. Additionally, understanding how different fuels impact the emission levels of a gas turbine is also important.

  • Assessment and evaluation of test data and field measurements to improve the dynamic and emission levels you will analyse.

  • Improving your analytical skills and proficiency in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), as well as other simulation tools, can greatly enhance your value in the field.

  • Be a good representative by using your excellent communication skills to be explain technical information clearly to both internal and external customers.

  • Collaborative and supportive work environment.

What You Bring

  • You have minimum PHD or master’s degree or equivalent experience in Combustion Technology, Fluid dynamics, Chemical Engineering, or similar with a strong background in fluid mechanics

  • Proven experience in combustion engineering, with a strong understanding of combustion principles and technologies. Prior experience as a commissioning engineer for MGT products will be considered an asset.

  • Advanced knowledge of computational methods, i.e. numerical and optimization methods and coding experience with e.g. python to automize your workflows and process your data.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present technical information clearly and exceptional inter-personal skills and enjoy working with colleagues from different organizations and cultural background. You are highly motivated, thorough and have an innovative thinking approach.

  • Opportunity to work on pioneering projects and innovative technologies.

  • Business proficient in English (Swedish is beneficial)

About the Team

Join the Siemens Energy Combustion team and make an impact on the development of gas turbine products. Work in an international team (Sweden, US, Europe and India, etc) and in an agile environment where you can question existing approaches, come up with new ideas, and drive these to a solution.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
