A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

The Bid Manager plays a critical role in winning complex, high-value Gas Turbine projects across the Oil & Gas and Power Generation markets. In this senior individual contributor role, you will own the technical and commercial proposal strategy from initial opportunity through handover to execution. You will serve as a key technical authority during customer negotiations, collaborating closely with Sales, Engineering, global factories, and senior leadership to deliver competitive, profitable solutions that support Siemens Energy’s growth objectives.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

  • Own and drive the end-to-end proposal strategy in close collaboration with the Sales organization
  • Lead customer-facing technical and commercial contract negotiations, with full accountability for product cost calculations and margin alignment
  • Define scope of supply and manage all technical comments, clarifications, and deviations to customer specifications
  • Coordinate with global factories and engineering teams on product configuration, development needs, and capacity planning
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate technical and commercial project risks during the bid phase, presenting recommendations to Senior Management
  • Deliver a complete, execution-ready technical proposal to the project execution organization, ensuring alignment on scope, assumptions, and risks

What You Bring (requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8+ years of experience in Gas Turbine engineering, project execution, bid management, or a related technical role
  • Proven customer-facing experience, including participation in technical and commercial contract negotiations
  • Strong engineering fundamentals, including the ability to read engineering drawings, perform technical analysis, and understand core design principles
  • Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) product knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aeroderivative Gas Turbine (AGT) experience
  • Prior experience leading complex, capital-equipment bids or proposals
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance technical, commercial, and risk considerations
