Join us as a Battery Lab Engineer and be the head of our top modern lithium—ion battery lab. As a key member of our battery development team, you will contribute with delivering vital results and understanding to the development of new battery technology.

 

Snapshot of your day
The position is part of the Siemens Energy - Electrification, Automation, and Digitalization business unit. You will be working in close collaboration with battery experts in the battery energy storage team in EAD, supporting R&D projects with focus on investigations and verifications of both external products and in-house developed battery technology.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact
You will, together with a team of laboratory technicians, and the rest of the battery development team be able to drive our battery technology further. The role also involves maintaining and developing test setups for battery cells, modules, and strings, while also improving the internally developed lab control software to enhance testing efficiency and quality.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Ensure best practice in data acquisition and data management.
  • Support in data visualization, analysis and decision-making reports.
  • Comply with and be a leading example in following our HSSE procedures.

 

Your profile

  • Higher formal education such as B.Sc./M.Sc./Ph.D. in electric power, cybernetics, electronics, or related field.
  • Longer relevant experience can compensate for formal education.
  • Good knowledge of lithium-ion batteries.
  • You are proactive, practical and have major problem-solving skills.
  • Adequate knowledge of Python scripting.
  • Fluent in English written and oral, Norwegian is a plus.

 

Beneficial skills
Knowledge of Git, MATLAB, MySQL, MQTT, InfluxDB, and Grafana is advantageous, along with experience in industry and/or research testing.  Experience with network engineering and communication protocols, is beneficial.
