A Snapshot of Your Day

As Solar PV Business Development & Strategy Director (f/m/d) You are driving the strategic and organizational development of Solar PV business in Siemens Energy. This includes PV Market Intelligence including company landscape (PV customers, partners, and competitors), technology trends and business models in Solar PV business. In addition, special projects incl. M&A and setting-up the strategic framework as business partner for main functions as Sales, Engineering, Execution and O&M. (can be located in Spain oir Portugal)

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Responsible for Market Evaluation and Competitor Intelligence in Solar PV
  • Represent the Solar team towards research institutes and PV industry associations; frequent visits to external decision-makers and major stakeholders to cultivate relationships to the Solar PV industry.
  • Ensure a continuous development of value proposition and business model of Siemens Energy Solar PV business on global level.
  • Resolute tracking of market trends and standardized approach for market screening for PV opportunities (Pure PV, PV & Storage, PV as part of more complex energy system)
  • Development of Solar PV Sales process/tool landscape, requirements in CRM and other internal tools used in Sales and Global Functions
  • Responsible for Go-to market strategies as navigator for Solar PV Sales Team
  • Development of country/regional-specific analysis to improve project selection process and quality of pipeline
  • Understand renewable/Solar PV regulation framework and public funding schemes and support resolute application of the marketing sales toolkit to help reduce proposal and implementation costs and minimize risks.
  • Drive analysis of external data provider to identify business opportunities/ risks.
  • Drive Strategic projects and Initiatives focused on decarbonization w/ Solar PV
  • Act as advisors to Top Management and Business partners on advanced technical matters in Solar PV
  • Win/Loss Analysis framework for Solar PV projects
  • Understand renewable/Solar PV regulation framework and public funding schemes
  • Drive application of the marketing sales toolkit to help reduce proposal and implementation costs and manage risks.
  • Develop Siemens Energy project management guidelines adjusted to Solar PV to ensure high-quality bids incl. risk mitigation
  • 20 - 30% business travel (international & domestic)

What You Bring 

  • Bachelor’s degree and above. Master or PhD is a plus, major in Economics, Engineering and/or Renewable Energy.
  • 7+ years of experience in international strategic consulting companies and/ or comparable in-house consulting or strategy department of an international player active in infrastructure business.
  • 5+ years of operational experience in power generation industry, ideally Renewables or Solar PV
  • 5+ years of experience in Solar PV industry including well-connected network in Solar PV business.
  • Demonstrated deep technical knowledge on utility-scale Solar PV applications and required products & technologies.
  • Deep understanding of Solar PV Market Landscape and main products (Solar PV Module, Inverter, Trackers, Balance of System, Grid Connection)
  • Business-modelling & Customer co-creation skills.
  • Risk & Quality Management, PM @ Siemens Energy, LOA guidelines & process.
  • Strong presentation, analytical and communication skills, highly structured working-style
  • Multiple stakeholder management (internal and external),
  • Strong intercultural skills and working experience in muti-national companies and virtual teams.
  • Conflict & People Management, EHS and quality mindset.
  • Strong in both written and oral English. German, French, Spanish or Mandarin is a plus.
