Description

Siemens Energy Transmission is a leader in the design, construction, installation and commissioning of onshore and offshore substations. Due to expanding market opportunities the company wishes to recruit an experienced EHS Project Manager to work on major offshore renewable projects in the UK. The successful individual will be part of a team dedicated to deliver offshore wind projects in the Norfolk and East Anglia regions and may including taking the lead EHS role for JV or consortium arrangements.

Let’s talk about you

·     Experience in EHS Project Management working on behalf of Principal Contractor organisations involved in delivering offshore wind projects is essential. Knowledge of HVDC interconnector projects would also be desirable.

·     Experience in delivery of offshore wind energy renewable projects is essential.

·     Understanding of safety by design principles and experienced in facilitating HAZID/HAZCON workshops.

·     Knowledge of onshore and offshore EHS legislation as applicable to offshore wind renewable projects is essential. Including comprehensive understanding of CDM Regulations.

·     Understanding of EHS requirements relating to marine operations and having worked in previous offshore environments is essential.

·     Understanding of EHS requirements for substations and working under HV Electrical Rules is essential.

·     Good standard of IT literacy – especially Word and Excel

·     Good written communication and interpersonal skills.

Your responsibilities

·        Support in identifying and evaluating EHS requirements (customer, country legislation and Siemens specific requirements) for incorporation into project tenders.

·        Supports the Bid-Project Manager in updating the EHS risk evaluation and ensure that all EHS- related information and documents are properly handed over to the execution project manager.

·        Participate in an initial inspection of the site / installation and construction environment and additionally draft the project Construction Phase Plan and secondary plans such as Local Emergency Response Plan, Traffic Management Plan, etc.

·        Update and finalise the Construction Phase Plan and secondary plans, cross-checking that the Plans cover all requirements from the Client and SE GP T EHS Management System and ensure that it adequately sets out the project systems for controlling, organising, monitoring and reviewing arrangements in place to protect the environment and people. Where the EHS Project Manager is acting as Consortium lead, they shall also produce high level consortium Project EHS Plans to detail how the consortium will collaborate and co-ordinate on EHS issues.

·        Work with procurement to assist in the identification and assessment of competent contractor organisations required to deliver the project.

·        Provide EHS co-ordination with the client, Consortium, Project team and other interfaces as agreed with the Project Manager.

·        Compile monthly EHS reports inclusive of agreed KPI’s and trending analysis and forward to the relevant Project Director/Manager as required.

·        Initiate improvement plans to address any undesired trends and to pursue continual improvement.

·        Audit and inspect offshore and onshore operational activities to ensure they are being conducted safely and in accordance with safe systems of work.

·        Ensure safety by design is implemented through audit and inspection together with facilitating HAZID/HAZCON workshops where required.

·        Abide by all business compliance requirements in line with Company policies, for example Business Conduct Guidelines & Confidential Information.

·        Takes ownership and accountability for area of responsibility.  Makes a positive contribution to the project team and functional department.  Sets own goals and clarifies expectations with the Line Manager. Invests time to help and facilitate the work of others as and when required.  Responds to the ideas, concerns and needs of the team.  Demonstrates interest in professional development to maximize own potential.
