What you bring
- You convince us by having an economical degree (preferable with a focus on foreign trade) from a university or equivalent professional accreditation.
- In your professional career you already gathered at least 5-7 years of experience in the field of customs processes (import, special procedures, export, Intrastat, customs tariff and (non/preferential) origin determination)
- You have knowledge in MS Office applications and ERP Systems (SAP).
- The following terms define you as a new colleague: Team-mindset, decision-making ability, assertiveness, structured analytical methodology, quality management, organizational skills, communication skills.
- Language skills: Polish (professional), English (professional); optional: German (basic knowledge/ understanding).
How you will make an impact
- Develop, implement, and enforce guidelines and instructions based on the Internal Control Program (ICP) Customs, taking into account local Polish legislation, to ensure compliance with customs regulations and optimization of processes in your area of responsibility.
- Ensure accurate and consistent distribution of relevant information within the internal organization.
- Perform import and export customs clearances (including special customs procedures for cost optimization) in cooperation with internal and external partners, also using relevant ERP/SAP/trade solution processes.
- Perform customs classification in accordance with the applicable customs regulations by considering the technical characteristics required for classification.
- Calculate and determine the country of origin (preferential and non-preferential).
- Prepare Intrastat declarations.
- Perform broker management, in particular control and monitor the broker and its activities.
- Collaborate with authorities regarding import/export license applications that may be required and clarifying general customs related issues.
- Advise Siemens Energy projects/businesses in your area of responsibility on customs regulations (based on ICP, regional/national requirements) and achieve effective/efficient end-to-end (E2E) processes in coordination with customs colleagues worldwide.
- Analyze training needs, conduct training, and ensure sufficient training levels across the organization.
- Perform spot checks, self-assessments and questionnaires (corporate / local) to ensure compliance with local and central regulations.
- Provide data to global and local organization to ensure visibility of processes performed.
- Manage customs audits and inquiries. This includes ensuring corrective actions are taken as a result of external and internal reviews and audits/requests.
- Report to the local CFO and to the EU Head of Customs.
