A Snapshot of Your Day

We seek support for synthesizing innovative GDEs based on polymers and Cu metal, and for their physical and electrochemical characterization. This is crucial for industrializing Cu-driven CO2 conversion to hydrocarbons, requiring high current densities, high Faradaic efficiencies, and long system lifetimes.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Preparing gas diffusion electrodes (GDE) in a polymer matrix using different methods such as calendering or roll-to-roll casting.
  • Physical and optical characterization of the GDEs via porosimeter, microscopy, contact angle, electrical conductivity, rheometry measurements.
  • Electrochemical characterization of the GDEs in readily available Siemens Energy test rigs.
  • Performing data evaluation and visualization.
What You Bring
  • Current Studies in chemistry, materials science or a comparable course of study in Master’s level.
  • Skilled and enthusiastic about hands-on lab work and have first experience in polymer chemistry, applied materials or electrochemistry.
  • Good skills in Microsoft Office are required and first experience with Origin software is desired.
  • Language proficiency in German or English is a must.
  • You are a communicative team player and exhibit independent way of working.
