A Snapshot of Your Day
The Central Function Regulatory Framework & Risk in SE Customs is responsible for our global Customs Compliance Management System. We are mandated to offer our global community of experts (>200 experts in more than 90 countries) a robust central architecture regarding customs governance & compliance.
As a Senior Expert for Customs Regulations & Risk with a focus on Risk Management you are part of a team of experts that supports our global colleagues with central guidance and expertise while at the same time implementing standards and policies, that safeguard the Siemens Energy group. In your role, you play an active part in defining the regulatory framework in which our global colleagues operate as well as in further implementing and maintaining the global risk management process.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Drive the implementation and maintenance of a sustainable, efficient and adequate global customs risk management process – from the identification risks to their mitigation
- Support the definition of risk strategies and governance structures, the development of risk assessment, aggregation and forecasting models as well as the implementation of a suitable IT solution
- Act as expert counterpart for questions and inquiries in our global organization with regard to customs standards and compliance
- Proactively assess new developments and their impact on our businesses in the world of foreign trade
- Develop a good understanding of customs processes and operational interfaces to other corporate functions in a globally operating company
What You Bring
- Long-term proven professional experience in the field of customs as well as enthusiasm and a strong drive to further develop a sustainable risk architecture and reporting structure, that supports our businesses and our global colleagues to operate efficiently and in compliance with the respective regulations and enables our organization to proactively mitigate customs risks
- A university degree or equivalent experience in law, economics or comparable fields (preferably focusing on foreign trade or customs)
- Strong analytical approach with the ability to analyze complex trade compliance matters and their risk potential for Siemens Energy; You are familiar with the handling of data and its use for risk assessment and mitigation
- You have a profound knowledge in MS Office applications, SAP; knowledge of risk management software (Metric Stream) and its implementation is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with business proficiency in English combined with an open-minded personality team-orientation, and a structured and independent way of working
- Willingness to travel for business purpose
