Product Development Specialist; Combustion Engineering.

 

A Snapshot of Your Day

You work towards validating and verifying creative, robust, reliable, cost-effective design solutions to meet customer needs through.  The environment is dynamic, fast paced, exciting, and motivating.  

You are entrusted with verifying design solutions against product requirements using structured verification and risk management processes, as well as communicating proposals on project direction.  You are influential in bringing design from concept to reality.  

You and your team are an integral part in achieving the company’s product strategies, namely providing innovative gas turbine product designs which are reliable and responding to the world’s constantly evolving energy demands.   

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You will study customer needs and product requirements and develop/derive design requirements at component and sub-system level 
  • You will conduct risk capture sessions, maintain risk databases, and guide risk reduction through project activity with careful consideration of the inputs from technical specialists in both analytical and manufacturing fields 
  • You will develop validation and verification plans and instruct activity the activities support these plans 
  • You will capitalize on opportunities to re-use and build on prior knowledge when generating solutions 
  • You will generate design solution standardization documentation   
  • Support root cause analysis   
  • You will ensure process compliance of the work governing your skill 
  • You will support rig and engine test programs to verify and validate technical solutions when required 
  • Where needed you will seek out opportunities for improvement and lead activities to implement them into working practices within the engineering subject area.

What You Bring   

  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering and are a member or eligible to become member of the "l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec" 
  • You have the legal right to work in Canada or work for a company which supports an internal transfer to take this position 
  • You are motivated by the leadership of a multi-disciplinary team in creating engineering solutions 
  • You have extensive years’ experience in a gas turbine design team.
  • You are fluent in French
