A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Sales Manager, Oil & Gas – North America, you will work closely with the regional and global sales teams and drive and coordinate all client activity during the various project development phases of an opportunity through order entry and deliver the successful sales campaigns for Siemens Energy Gas Turbine portfolio in Oil & Gas market for both power generation and compression applications. In this role, you will be expected to liaise with the customers, EPCs and process licensors for early business development, manage the respective relationships and develop and implement the project sales strategies to secure orders for gas turbines. You will identify the client project evaluators, influencers and decision-makers in customer organization and drive the Siemens Energy value at each stage of acquisition cycle.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Engage with customer early on each identified opportunity to resolve key drivers, challenges, evaluation criteria, main stakeholders and influence the decision by promoting a strong value proposition of Siemens Energy product portfolio
  • Develop the winning strategy for each seen opportunity incorporating the customer needs, equipment application, aftermarket strategy, Siemens Energy strengths, competitor landscape.
  • Lead technical and commercial negotiations with the customer until contract closure.
  • Run the organizational risk through the entire sales development process both in terms of customer contractual obligations as well as providing robust internal sales forecasting.
  • Achieve and maintain superior responsiveness to customers with quality information to strengthen Siemens Energy position.
  • Capture market intelligence and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of Siemens Energy product portfolio in conjunction with various product and market applications.

What You Bring

  • BS or BA degree or higher in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • 8 or more years of experience in Oil & Gas industry with at least 3 years in sales/business development role
  • Technical understanding of gas turbines and/or centrifugal compressors required
  • Strong analytical and strategic problem solver with a focus on technical differentiation and value selling
  • Proficient in communication, both written and spoken, able to discuss technical and commercial aspects
  • Strong presentations skills, both written and oral at all levels
  • Must be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and interact with all levels within customer organization
  • Ability to follow and successfully apply all internal processes and policies
  • Willingness to travel as required (~25%)
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
