A Snapshot of Your Day

Working within the Siemens Energy UK regional technical support team, as a technical support engineer you will take ownership for the investigation and resolution of emergent customer issues, as well as supporting the development and implementation of longer-term solutions alongside your engineering colleagues.

The focus of this role will be centrifugal gas compressors with particular emphasis on supporting workshop overhauls

What You Bring

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent 3-5 years of relevant experience in Turbomachinery (Power Turbine/Turbo Compressor/Gas Turbine/Reciprocating Compressor) including knowledge of industry standards (API, ASME, etc.).

· Strong rotating equipment knowledge, with understanding of mechanical systems related to centrifugal gas compressors.

· Familiarity with and experienced in the application of a range of problem-solving techniques, both theoretical and practical.

· Experience with rotating equipment, terminologies, and applications, and have a sound background in engineering fundamentals.

· Proven understanding of rotating equipment repair techniques, particularly centrifugal gas compressor and power turbines.

· Good product knowledge of turbo machinery products / components and associate OEMs.

· Positivity and comfortable taking responsibility for tasks and projects you’ve been assigned.

· Know how to manage your own time and adapt to change.

· Possess strong communication and reporting skills in English, with an appreciation of cultural differences that comes with a global customer base

How You’ll Make an Impact

· Take ownership for the technical matters allocated to you including scheduled and un-scheduled activities and issues.

· Remain current with repair techniques liaising with the wider Siemens Energy repair network as required.

· Support standardisation and digitisation of repair methodologies and inspections

· Perform assessment of equipment condition and apply repair measures or upgrade options based on Siemens Energy standards

· Navigate effectively through various fleet documentation to provide accurate documentation to support repair centre overhauls

· Engage with a range of functions across the business to deliver excellent support to your customers.

· Identify opportunities for business development with customers, and provide technical leadership on such matters.

· Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support our customers, including the opportunity for overseas travel to customer sites.

· Advise the Product Safety organization should a Product Safety related issue become apparent which may or may not be related to a potential fleet wide issue
