A Snapshot of Your Day

Siemens Energy, Industrial Steam Turbines Business, is looking for a Project Manager to join our team in Malaysia.
SE TI STG (Transformation of Industry Steam Turbine and Generator) comprises of the widest portfolio of rotating equipment in the market, ranging from 2 to 250MW range industrial steam turbines and generators sets.

The Project Manager manages all industrial steam turbine/generator applications from Siemens Energy in Malaysia and possibly in other countries within Asia Pacific region. The role will have a single face responsibility with the assigned projects for all products under the BU. This position will report to the Head of Project Management in Asia Pacific.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Execute the projects to meet the required standard of quality (time, budget, functionality) and ensure business success.
  • Review the onshore/offshore contract scope for the erection/commissioning/warranty.
  • Build, grow and maintain strong customer relationship.
  • Have to Interface with the Engineering & Resource Managers from Siemens Energy and the External Customers for the planning and executing of the erection/commissioning/warranty activities.
  • Identify and coordinate the resource dispatch with our Back Office team for the engineers inbound to Malaysia and possibly to other countries within Asia Pacific region.
  • Attend the customer meetings to discuss the site issues related with SE and share the right information with the back-office teams.
  • Hire a sub-contractor, supply & secure the resources on the plan to complete the outage activities, if required.
  • Planning support will be provided for the outages occurring during the warranty period in Malaysia and possibly in other countries within Asia Pacific region.
  • Support the development of sub-contractor resources including establishment of Frame Agreements, collecting evaluation feedback on sub-contractor performance, search & identification of new suppliers, etc.

What You Bring
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an engineering / technology.
  • A minimum of 5 years professional experience in a Project management and/or technical environment
  • Experience with execution of project management activities associated with construction and commissioning or experience with maintenance operations. Mechanical, Control and/or Electrical qualification and experience with rotating equipment is preferred. Candidates with different qualifications experience will be considered.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office. Experience in using project management tools is a plus.
  • Must have fluency in English and capable to communicate with the Global PM community and the engineering groups.
  • Global mindset. To work with teams and stakeholders around the global organization via the strong intercultural sensitivity and ability.
  • Ability to work independently in a multicultural environment and demonstrate the ownership of tasks.
  • Positive can-do attitude and ability to work in an environment with competing demands which requires prioritization of activities.
  • Strong passion and proven success in achieving of the profitable project execution.
  • Legally permitted to work and resident in Malaysia.
  • Fluent in Malay and English
