A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Designer (m/f/d) for Primary engineering, you will work in the project team to develop the technical solution according to customer requirements. This includes the entire process, starting with clarifying fundamental questions, through to the final design of the technical solution, and ending with the handover to the end customer. You will promptly address any issues that arise and actively seek improvement opportunities.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- To work with the team leader to deliver primary engineering design packages in line with the agreed delivery timescales and budget.
- To prepare technical and requisition specifications, data sheets and inspection data sheets for primary HV equipment’s (circuit breakers, disconnector switches, CT&VT transformers, surge arrestors, GIS switchgear etc.)
- To perform calculation and analysis for sizing of equipment in compliance with applicable international standards and norms.
- To perform Technical Bid Evaluations for primary HV equipment and providing recommendations in the final selection of equipment.
- Preparation of Earthing & Lightning Protection layout.
- Participation in negotiations with customers, specialist planners, and suppliers (customer specifications and technical standards as guidelines)
What You Bring
- 5 Years Design experience within the electrical transmission and distribution industry (experience in high voltage switchgear sector will be a plus)
- Good knowledge about HV equipment (transformers, circuit breakers, disconnector switches, CT&VT transformers, surge arrestors GIS switchgear etc.)
- Knowledge of international standards for AC & DC systems above 1 kV (including IEC, IEEE, EN and VDE)
- Good working knowledge of primary layouts and equipment drawings associated with HV electrical substations.
- Knowledge of 3D CAD tools (Autodesk products such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks, CREO, Primtech)
- Very good written and spoken English, willing to travel 20% of the time.
