A Snapshot of Your Day
You'll be part of a permanently employed flexible technician team. You will be able carry out all of the duties associated with the service and scheduled maintenance of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) wind turbine generators.
The role will involve flexibility between service and other scheduled maintenance roles across the year. The role will be a travelling role and technicians will be expected to travel throughout the UK and overseas. Must be willing to work on an SOV or travel via helicopter when required. The shift pattern will be on 2 weeks on 2 weeks off or 4 weeks on 4 week off as operational requirements dictate.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Active safety leadership when in the turbine and in the Wind Farm - ensure correct reporting of incidents and accidents, near misses and unsafe acts and conditions. Ensure compliance with Siemens Gamesa standards and UK legislation in relation to EHS, Quality and Service delivery.
- To lead a team in delivery of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance at site and preparation and execution of work packages / tasks.
- All activities to be carried out in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
- Remote diagnosis of turbine faults.
- Support technical supervision of critical tasks as required.
- develop and carry out take 5 safety briefs with team
- Assist in control of any incidents on site in accordance with emergency response plan.
- Support for the welfare of technicians whilst on site and escalation of any issues relating to PPE, transportation, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with customer and contractual obligations whilst executing work packages / tasks. Guarantee compliance with site rules and regulations.
- Maintain efficient timescales for delivery of service activities to assist in the creation of daily, weekly plans for site teams as in conjunction with Service Planner / Service Coordinator / Stores Operators if required.
- Provide accurate time booking data.
- Comply with task related EHS, Quality and Technical documentation and ensure compliance at site level with all requirements. e.g. Work Instructions, Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Onsite support for customer operational issues and site visits
- Work proactively with 3rd party technicians, contractors and sub-contractors and facilitate planning and execution of 3rd party work including EHS compliance
What You Bring
- A proactive approach to all areas of Health and Safety for both yourself and your team.
- An electrical education at level 3 or above (e.g. NVQ 3/City & Guilds/HNC or equivalent.) Preference given to candidates with a strong electrical background.
- Previous experience of carrying out fault finding or troubleshooting on electrical/mechanical systems highly advantageous.
- Professional experience working on service and maintenance of Electrical / mechanical systems, preferably offshore
- Proven ability to safely motivate and lead a small team
- A strong communicator willing to undertake assignments and work Individually.
- Willingness to travel to all regions of the world, potential for 4 week rotations in Asia.
- You must hold a valid UK driver’s license and a valid UK Passport (VISA SPONSORSHIP IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS ROLE).
