A Snapshot of Your Day

As a General Accountant in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, every day is different. You will analyze financial data to help steer the company in the right direction. This will entail performing a wide variety of accounting activities under minimal supervision to ensure timely and accurate financial statements and management reporting. You will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues locally and abroad as you work to find solutions to a continual array of complex financial scenarios. This position is the perfect opportunity for someone who is self-motivated, organized, and focused on process improvement.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Perform month-end closing activities including preparing journal entries, financial statements, & balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensures accurate and timely reporting for management.
  • Support development and submission of monthly financial forecast.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to reconcile the GR/IR balance sheet account.
  • Maintain and distribute the Daily Sales Report out of Alteryx.
  • Acts as liaison between the centralized accounts payable department and local staff.
  • Participates in annual physical inventory reconciliation as well as periodic stat audits.
  • Provide both internal and external auditors with requested information.
  • Prepares ad hoc reporting for both US and German headquarters.
  • Use complex digitalization tools like Alteryx and Tableau to generate custom reporting.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Accounting or Business w/ Accounting emphasis.
  • Master’s Degree preferred, Accounting or Business w/ Accounting emphasis.
  • 1+ related business experience is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP system preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
  • Experience with, or willingness to learn, complex digitalization tools such as Alteryx or Tableau.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to multitask and work under time pressure.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
