A Snapshot of Your Day

An opportunity to work in a high performing development team at the forefront of the energy transition. We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated to contribute their experience and knowledge to Siemens Energy's product range.  The successful candidates will be developing and evaluating mathematical models to optimize energy systems and forecast market data. They will have strong analytical and maths skills, and experience of optimization systems and energy systems.

How You’ll Make an Impact

       Building and maintaining mathematical/statistical models for energy system components

       Determining the best optimization algorithms and approaches to model an energy system including MILP, stochastic, statistical and neural optimization methods

       Analyzing performance of energy system models and develop performance KPIs

       Preprocessing of timeseries data such as weather, demand and market data

What You Bring 

       A background (minimum degree level) in physics, statistics, maths, computer science or engineering

       At least two of the following:

1.      Background or degree in mathematics or statistics, or the proven ability to understand complex mathematical models

2.      Domain knowledge of energy systems, energy markets and power dispatch optimization

3.      Proven ability to turn complex mathematical systems into computer programs

Desired skills

·       Proficient in programming language such as Python or R, along with relevant libraries and framework with data manipulation, visualization and modelling

·       Develop and implement statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and forecasting techniques to solve energy forecasting problems

·       Competences in timeseries analysis, data integration and preprocessing, model evaluation and performance metrics, real time data processing and risk analysis

·       Experience working directly to end customers, understanding and documenting their requirements

·       Working both individually and teams to deliver complex solutions

·       Experience working with agile development teams, and the ability to prioritize and shift tasks to match changes in business priorities
