A Snapshot of Your Day
Join our dynamic team as a Machinist B, where you will set up and operate both manual and CNC horizontal milling machines, as well as manual and CNC lathes. Imagine using a variety of tools, including milling cutters, boring bars, and precision measuring instruments, to perform detailed operations on diverse parts and components. You will leverage your understanding of shop mathematics and your ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications to ensure high-quality outcomes. This role offers you the opportunity to engage in precision machining while contributing to innovative projects in a supportive environment.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You will load and unload parts using material handling devices, assisting the crane operator as needed.
  • Set up machines by installing tooling and adjusting settings according to job documentation and drawing specifications.
  • Secure workpieces with various tools to ensure accurate alignment and leveling.
  • Operate machines to perform a range of machining operations, including milling, drilling, and grinding.
  • Conduct in-process integrity checks to maintain drawing tolerances, making necessary tool changes and adjustments.
  • Remove chips from workpieces and perform inspections, deburring, and cleaning as required.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and minor repairs on machines.
  • Complete essential documentation, including log sheets and downtime records.

What You Bring

  • A minimum of 3 years of CNC machining experience.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding GD&T.
  • Functional knowledge of G & M code.
  • Experience with manual machining using lathes and mills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to manually lift up to 50 lbs. for short durations, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Capability to work with written, oral, or graphic instructions.
  • Willingness to obtain fork truck and crane licenses through Siemens Energy’s internal certification programs.
  • Ability to achieve an ACT® WorkKeys® National Career Readiness Certificate (Silver Level or higher) as part of the pre-hire assessment, with assistance from Siemens Energy.
  • Successful applicants must pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests as required.
  • Legal authorization for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
