In this role you’ll be required to provide Project Support (including clerical and administrative) to project teams.


·         To provide Project Support (including clerical and administrative) to project teams

·         To provide necessary support in co-ordinating snagging activities to close out projects/As Built Stage

·         Support the Project Engineers (where required) ordering control & protection materials, expediting suppliers, tracking costs and maintaining procurement lists.

·         Establishing and maintaining project support systems, e.g. filing for paper and electronic documents, including databases and spreadsheets.

·         Logistical support including chasing suppliers and arranging; deliveries, travel, accommodation and hire car bookings.

·         Arranging meetings & taking minutes, preparing & typing reports, and co-ordinating the preparation/ creation of another project documentation.

·         General office support to the team and liaison with other relevant departments (including; post/ courier arrangements and stationery & PPE control/ ordering)

·         General support to other project areas during times of; heavy workload, tight timescales, holidays and sick leave absences.

·         Liaison with Project Engineers and manufacturing facilities to ensure timely delivery of control and protection solution deliverables.

·         Liaison with the PM/PE/SHEQ & Site Managers to assist with monthly statistics where required

·         Co-ordinate & Review meetings for the Team and Direct Support to various project meetings or reporting (arrangements, data collection, minutes and expediting actions).

·         The candidate may also be required at times to work some overtime at short notice, in order to meet project deadlines.

·         Abide by all business compliance requirements in line with Company Policies, for example Business Conduct Guidelines & Confidential Information.

Role Requirements

  • Technical/ Engineering qualifications, Business Studies or Business Administration qualification is useful but not essential.
  • A UK Driving Licence for occasional travel between Siemens and customer sites is useful.
  • Successful candidate will be expected to carry out H&S training to enable BESC & National Grid 'Person' qualifications to facilitate occasional attendance at NG substations.
  • Experience in an office-based role with responsibilities, e.g. administrative or other.
  • Project Team and/ or Procurement experience would be an advantage
  • Familiarity, proficiency and confidence with MS Office software and the use of networked PC's are essential.
  • Experience of MS Project would be desirable, but not essential.
  • Able to deal with customers, colleagues and suppliers in a polite and professional manner.
  • Recognises the importance of delivering excellent customer service.
  • Shows commitment and enthusiasm to meet and exceed customer needs and expectations.
  • Prepared to work as part of a team, keen to make internal and external contacts, learn and be able to operate company procedures with minimal assistance (once established).
  • Able to manage own time to meet multiple priorities.
  • Have a methodical approach to their work
  • A self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to work under the minimum of supervision.
