Other days you will have to shift your priorities at a moment’s notice in order to support urgent unplanned work packages. Either way, you will collaborate with a global cross-organizational team, you and your peers will continuously support each other, and you will communicate directly with internal customers and stakeholders.
How You’ll Make an Impact ● Analyze and design hot gas path components (i.e. blades, vanes, ring segments) ● Apply and automate mechanical integrity modeling and analysis techniques ● Develop and improve, validate and integrate mechanical integrity methods and tools ● Utilize test and field data to validate and improve analytical predictions, tools and methods ● Support operation and field issue resolution with design studies and root cause analyses ● Support manufacturing both initial qualification and subsequent production phases ● Prepare engine test specifications for hot gas path components ● Process, evaluate and document primary and miscellaneous tasks and results ● Interface with customers both internal and external ● Train, coach and mentor less experienced engineers
As a federal contractor, Siemens Energy continues to monitor federal and state legal guidelines regarding the COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Siemens Energy is pausing its mandatory vaccine policy while the issue is addressed by the courts. SEI will monitor the situation closely and may reimplement its policy if required to comply with federal law. What You Bring ● University degree in mechanical, aerospace or materials engineering ● 6+ years of industry experience in hot gas path mechanical integrity incl. 3D modeling ● Advanced understanding and experience in Finite Element Analysis ● Advanced understanding of structural integrity incl. TMF, creep and coating lifing ● Understanding of dynamic integrity and aeromechanics incl. flutter, HCF, vibration, damping and forced response ● Proficiency in NX, ANSYS, APDL, DATAR, TRACE, Heeds, TeamCenter ● Knowledge of multi-disciplinary optimization incl. aerodynamics/CFD and heat transfer ● Knowledge of computational methods and programming experience ● Demonstrated detail-oriented and innovative mindset ● Able to succeed in a global, dynamic and virtual integrated team environment ● Highly motivated, proactive, self-directed and take initiative ● Exceptional inter-personal and communication skills ● Able to travel 0-10% if needed ● Business fluent in English
