We are seeking an experienced, hardworking, and knowledgeable Transformer Technical Trainer to educate individuals in the field of power transformer installation and service. As a Technical Trainer, you will play a vital role in developing training programs and enhancing the technical skills of professionals within our organization. Your expertise in all aspects associated with transformer service will empower others to excel in their roles!
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Conduct training sessions focusing on electrical transformers for technicians and field service personnel, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills vital to perform their jobs effectively with alignment to organizational and regional requirements
- Coordinate with our Training and Environmental Health Quality and Safety (EQS) team to craft and develop comprehensive training materials, including manuals, presentations, and e-learning content dedicated to transformer operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Ability to use a variety of instructional techniques and formats, such as simulations, handson exercises and demonstrations, and group discussions to improve learning and engage personnel. Ensure that materials and content are clear, concise, and effective for diverse learners.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics
- Maintain accurate records of completed courses, attendance, and any issues encountered during training. Provide ongoing support and mentorship to trainees, helping to reinforce learning and ensuring they apply learned skills effectively in real world scenarios. Be knowledgeable about the most recent industry trends, technologies, and standard methodologies in relation to transformers and electrical systems to recognize vital topics and learning objectives related to electrical transformers
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to ensure training content aligns with the latest product specifications and service protocols. Conduct refresher courses and sophisticated training sessions as needed. Deliver training sessions, workshops, and webinars to groups or individuals.
What You Bring
- Proven experience as a technical trainer specifically in the field of transformers. In-depth knowledge of power transformer installation, processing, testing, maintenance, and safety practices.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to the field of transformers. Ability to create comprehensive technical course content that meets industry standards. Proficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable speaking to groups and explaining sophisticated concepts. Strong time-management skills and attention to detail.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
- 10+ years of proven ability in technical assembly, maintenance and repair of power and distribution transformers / transformer accessories in utility/energy electrical industry preferred but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering; advanced degree or equivalent experience is a plus
- Expert level skill in one or more of: Distribution, Power and Transmission electrical substation equipment in power ranges of Low Voltage (4160V – 13kV), Medium Voltage (13kV – 69kV) or High Voltage (69kV – 800 kV)
