A Snapshot of Your Day

The successful candidate’s role will involve daily interaction with internal teams both here in the US and our colleagues in Germany. The interaction with your allocated customers and region will be on an as needed basis. You will be leading/guiding the proposal team in the preparation of the proposals and be heavily involved in the approval process for each proposal!

They will work on the assigned proposals primarily focusing on the Synchronous Condenser projects in North America. They will report directly to the US head of technical sales and work closely with the overall FACTS sales lead and the Synchronous Condenser technical sales lead, they will work in close coordination with other SE teams including other business areas (engineering, tender, PM, procurement etc.) to keep everyone aligned in order to set up the organization for success on syncon projects.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Business Development:

  • Leads all aspects of development of strategies for profitable penetration into new or existing market segments.
  • Leads the development and execution of account plans to ensure achievement of assigned business goals.
  • Makes presentations to key customers on a technical level as and when required
  • Guides business development within assigned key accounts and/or markets.
  • Develops sponsorship with key decision-makers.

Proposals:

  • Leads internal process for actual proposals and drives both the technical solution as well as the final price
  • Leads the LoA internal approval process for each proposal
  • Leads the presentation of the proposal at the customer meeting
  • Leads the negotiation phase of the proposal by driving adaptability in Siemens Energy’s contracts
  • Supports the tender manager with the handover process of the project to the project team when the project has been awarded

What You Bring

  • A Bachelors degree or equivalent experience is vital. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of successful business development or sales experience in at least one of the following fields.
  • Synchronous condenser, power generation sales and rotating power plant equipment
  • Proven business acumen in balancing customer and business requirements, i.e. financials strategic and tactical thinking etc.
  • Executive level verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Inherent ability to work effectively in a team environment and strong desire to win
  • Organization and time management skills to succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • Travel up to 30%
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
