A snapshot of your day

You will be the point of contact for the Large Steel Fabrication Global Commodity Manager in developing procurement strategies and project planning, supplier identification, capability assessment audits, driving standards and finding and bringing in new LSF related technology.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Enhance large steel fabrication knowledge and expertise of the global supply quality network by organizing and leading a global community of Supply Quality Engineers in knowledge sharing and training on large steel fabrications and welding
  • Product and Process Qualification: Mostly be the technical Lead, and sometimes the main lead, in cross-functional teams to perform Product and Process Qualification (PPQ) on Large Steel Fabrication commodity parts
  • Leading includes the planning, tracking and reporting of project milestones as well as budget and resource needs
  • Be a key expert in improving large steel fabrication suppliers and supporting critical technical issues


What You Bring

  • You have a bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering/a similar discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered
  • At least 8 years professional experience in a supplier quality management, procurement, Large Steel Fabrication (LSF) or quality management area
  • You have experience performing Large Steel Fabrication supplier qualifications, product/ process qualification & technical supplier development to provide a global quality-assured and cost-effective supply base
  • You have experience in leading projects and running virtual cross-functional teams in an international environment
  • You are a self-starter, determined and self-reliant; your organizational, strategic, analytical thinking, leadership skills and intercultural expertise round up your profile
  • You have extensive knowledge in welding of carbon steel and the fabrication of large steel components
  • CWI certification and NACE (AMPP / FROSIO) certification preferred
  • You are familiar with ASME and AWS D1.1 code requirements
  • Willing to ask questions, proactively reach out to others to communicate, be open minded, look for problems proactively and mitigate, have personal drive and growth
  • You are fluent (writing and speaking) in English
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 15% of time
