A Snapshot of Your Day
Working closely with the Product Owner– Edge and Connectivity, Technical Lead – Edge Computing and Lead Developer/Key Expert – Edge Computing:
- You will design and document test mechanisms and procedures for the Edge Computing Solutions and applications, gain an understanding of the business use cases and ensure the solution(s) are tested to meet these needs, provide leadership for testing procedures for Edge Computing.
- You will support other areas of the organization with developing testing processes and organize all documentation associated to all testing performed for all releases of the Edge Computing Solutions.
How You’ll Make an Impact
The Edge Computing systems provided and used by Siemens Energy assist with the efficient operation and maintenance of industrial facilities and power plants where solutions are required at a facility and in conjunction with our cloud technologies.
- Design and implement testing mechanisms and procedures to ensure the solutions are functional and stable
- Assist with the modelling of testing processes based throughout the Software Product Development teams
- Conduct research on innovative test mechanisms and procedures and adopt into the business where appropriate.
- Mentor other test engineers through the business when required
- Promotion of the importance of testing procedures throughout the organization
- Promote how testing improves quality
- Assist with documenting the company’s existing test procedures
- Ensure all testing associated to Edge Computing is documented in accordance the needs of standards compliance organizations ensuring Siemens Energy remains or becomes standards compliant.
What You Bring
- Extensive experience in developing strategic test systems and processes for software solutions.
- Proficiency in test automation
- Analytical thought processes
- Positive can-do attitude
- Good communication skills both written and spoken
- Familiarity with software development techniques, languages and tools
- Willingness to travel internationally (up to four times a year)

The Digital Products & Solutions organization is responsible for developing software solutions for both internal and external customers. These solutions include Edge Computing and applications, On-site sensor technology integration, Cloud-based platforms and cloud-based software solutions and applications.
The solutions, applications, and platforms we provide allow data acquired to be used to improve the operation and maintenance of power plants and industrial facilities of all sizes this includes the development of digital twins, analytics platforms and agents, artificial intelligent and machine learning applications and algorithms.
