We are experts in delivering on turnkey high voltage substation solutions and due to growth, we have an incredible opportunity for a passionate and talented individual to join our Project Delivery Team as a Senior Project Manager. Based out of our Newcastle office this incredibly varied position will enable you to work on and lead a portfolio of projects across the UK.

Your profile

• Experience of managing large construction projects within the Transmission & Distribution Industry.
• PM Accreditation at the respective level.
• Degree qualified (or similar) in a suitably related discipline.
• Demonstrable evidence of successful project delivery managing up to 10 staff.
• A working knowledge and practical application of project management methodologies and tools.
• Extensive knowledge of HV Substations (Civil, Primary & Secondary Systems).
• Experience of purchasing procedures and possessing negotiating skills.
• Knowledge of Commercial / Contractual issues.
• Conflict Management experience.
• Detailed working knowledge of current H&S legislation and the CDM Regulations.
• Working knowledge of Environmental Regulations
• Knowledge of Risk / Opportunity Management processes
• Effective leadership, supervisory, communication & interpersonal skills.

Your responsibilities

The Senior Project Manager has full responsibility for results within their allocated projects with the objective of:

• Executing the project within the defined requirements of safety, cost, time, quality and functionality.
• Ensuring project controls are established throughout the project in line with the Business Management System.
• Ensuring compliance with all Regulations, Legislation, and Corporate Governance requirements
• Delivering both business success and customer satisfaction
• Providing professional stakeholder management throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensuring timely decisions on open issues, and escalating issues where necessary
• Managing risk and opportunity, and providing robust contract execution and administration in a professional and compliant manner
• Fantastic communication & interpersonal skills are required along with a strong work ethic, able to work of own initiative and ability to be proactive.
