A Snapshot of Your Day

In this role, your day will involve engaging in virtual meetings with clients and collaborating with Siemens Energy internal sales teams across the globe. You will work closely with team members and various departments to develop proposals and meet deadlines. Frequent communication, whether in-person or via Teams, with diverse engineering disciplines, supply chain management, vendors, and other functions will be essential to crafting effective solutions. Staying organized and ensuring critical files are properly stored will be vital for the success of the execution team once the project is won and initiated.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Maintain accurate records and follow established processes to obtain necessary approvals.
  • Collaborate with Sales and subject matter experts from Engineering, Factory, and Vendors, as well as other team members, to effectively define project details and requirements prior to order. Conduct front-end technical evaluations, perform basic calculations, and lead preliminary design/proposal review meetings to mitigate technical risks on revamp and upgrade opportunities.
  • Review client data and conduct technical assessments to determine if sufficient details are available for developing revamp or upgrade solutions, while evaluating existing machinery reliability concerns from a design perspective.
    • Perform technical data integrity checks, including:
      • Develop and review aerodynamic solutions (SmartPerf, CES GUI, and Pipeliner files)
      • Ensure proper application of correction factors
      • Verify mechanical fit and stage spacing requirements
      • Assess the best manufacturing methods
      • Confirm appropriate material selection
  • Develop aerodynamic and mechanical revamp/upgrade options that address client needs and concerns, utilizing findings from technical evaluations to create compelling client value propositions.
  • Create cost models and schedules for proposed solutions, encompassing hardware, labor, engineering, buy-out, risk, travel, and commercial instrument costs.
  • Develop clear technical and commercial proposals, presenting data to both internal and external customers to secure profitable business for the company.
  • Facilitate order entry and commercial review of client purchase agreements, acting as the interface between Sales and the Factory, and leading internal project kick-off meetings (and external as required).

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience, with 10+ years in the industry or a similar role. Advanced understanding of compressor thermodynamic performance, rotor dynamics, strength of materials, and compressor aerodynamic design.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills, demonstrating professionalism and tact.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a willingness to mentor and coach team members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic 2D CAD, with the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 10%) to provide technical support to sales and clients, effectively addressing customer needs.

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
