Reliability Engineering Manager

Siemens Energy Aero-derivative Gas Turbines (AGT) is currently recruiting for a Reliability Engineering Manager within our Technical Services function for a 12 month secondment. Working with Gas Turbine Solutions Engineering, you will be based out of UK working with a global organisation mainly made up of two core site in the UK and Canada and will work with a diverse team of engineers across the AGT organisation. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of engineers to ensure the reliability and safety of our products and processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including technical support, project management, and overhaul bases to ensure that products are assessed for risk, priority and decisions made to mitigate and remove risks to the AGT portfolios using techniques, rules and methodologies that ensure confidence.


Over the past few years, our aero-derivative turbine business has successfully grown to be a £1 billion per annum global business by focusing on the supply and support of aero-derivative gas turbine packages and equipment to the global oil & gas and power generation markets. The business has supplied over 4,000 gas turbines to customers in over 80 countries accumulating over 200 million hours of operating experience. What are my main responsibilities?

  • Develop and implement reliability programs and techniques to ensure that products meet safety and reliability standards.
  • Manage a team of engineers responsible for analysis, and validation of risks and solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential product issues and risk and develop solutions to improve reliability.
  • Develop and maintain reliability metrics to measure product performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Carry out Reliability assessment of fleets, sites and units to meet business and customer needs.
  • Work with digital tools and identify improvements and/or assist with creation of new digital tools.
  • Provide support to project and product specific improvement programmes.
  • Present Fleet reliability work and programmes to stakeholders
  • Work toward identification and implementation of new reliability assessment techniques.

Required qualifications, experience and skillset

  • A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or associated discipline, or equivalent experience within engineering and/or reliability
  • Working knowledge of data visualisation tools and techniques (for example MS Excel, Reliasoft, tableau, etc)
  • Familiarity with and experience in failure mode analysis with ability to problem solve and effectively communicate findings at different business levels
  • Knowledge of gas turbines and auxiliaries and their operational capabilities
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
