Join our team based in Bangkok Thailand and focus on outage engineering support for our Siemens Energy SGT-800 gas turbines in the Asia Pacific Region.


Your profile

  • Bachelor, Master or comparable engineering degrees in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience within Engineering, and FS Support function with experience of working in Asia is essential.
  • Experience as GT quality inspector or technical field technician roles is required.
  • Good knowledge on industrial gas turbine components design.
  • Good understanding of operation of the SGT-800 Gas Turbine equipment and its associated auxiliary systems, air filtration, acoustic packages, lube oils systems, fuel gas systems, seal gas system and other auxiliary systems is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge on manufacturing and repair technologies and gas turbine materials
  • Willing to spend time on outage sites as and when required.
  • Full working rights in Thailand and have good communication and collaboration skills in Thai and English
  • Team player with proven experience of improving engineering know how or field service capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites (approximately 30%)

Your responsibilities

  • Provide intermediate level of inspection and product support on diverse GT outage related technical queries from external and internal customers. This includes mainly the quality inspectors and the Field Service personnel on site.
  • Handle urgent and complicated technical issues with a customer first approach. Provide timely, smart, and feasible solutions with consideration of real situation on site and product support recommendations.
  • Communication to customer’s on a technical level for increased transparency and understanding
  • Act as the outage regional technical representative to coordinate technical discussion between PCC and regional team to resolve outage related matters.
  • Support the preparation and execution of planned and forced outages as part of cross functional global teams.
  • Support engineering team to conduct RCA by providing technical input and collecting the right information
  • Visit Power Plants across the Region to build strong relationships with the Customer and our Field Service team.
  • Present and discuss technical solutions during internal- and external meetings
  • Complete post outage reviews with a focus on identifying areas of improvement for future outages.
  • Capable and willing to assist the Regional Technical Support Manager in special projects and improvement initiatives

Business responsibility

  • Support Mods & Ups team to identify new opportunities from technical recommendations provided to the customer.
  • To ensure that work is carried out within the framework of the cost budget and given time schedule and that it is characterized by high quality; also, to ensure that feedback is given concerning any non-conformances to the markets and engineering departments concerned.
