A Snapshot of Your Day

As project manager for Gas Services you plan and complete scheduled maintenance activities on gas turbines, steam turbines and generators ranging from 10 to 1000MW each, with the objective to enhance their availability, reliability and flexibility corresponding to the needs of our customers and the grid. Outstandingly you will also lead unexpected issues, the so called corrective maintenance, in order to return the units to the grid as soon as possible. To do so, you handle a scope, a budget and a timeline all with the objective to achieve high customer satisfaction.

You are the main contact person for our customers and for our internal partners related to the execution of the planned and unplanned maintenance. The Siemens Energy fleet we serve ranges from cogeneration for industrial customers, open cycle and mainly gas fired combined cycle power plants for utilities, and nuclear steam power plants.

In order to do so, you will explain the customer possible technical improvements to the machines, offer these parts & services, and integrate them into the contract where needed. After ordering these pars & services you will coordinate the detail outage planning with our internal departments, before leading the outage on site supported by a site manager; with typical between 10 and 150people on site in 2 shifts.

Finally, while ensuring the ‘security of supply’ at all times, it is also our mission to help our customers succeed the energy transition by decarbonizing their fleet. It is your role to support our customers to develop their decarbonization strategy by bringing new ideas

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Understand our customer strategy & their needs
  • Manage projects (outages), including HSE, Scope, Budget & Timeline
  • Define and ‘freeze’ the technical scope for the outage, including possible improvements together with our engineering & field sercvices
  • Lead the contract (change orders) to adequately integrate the selected scope, and ensure detailed execution without surprises, all this supported by Sales in the outage preparation phase
  • Lead the Outage Execution within time & Budget.
  • Address technical ‘Findings’ during the outage within the best possible time & quality, ensure that our customer pays for all the extra services we deliver to cope with findings (Change Orders) and at the same time achieve high customer satisfaction by the way how we serve our customers.
  • Clarify the expectations from customer side, define the exact scope for the service activities with our Engineering, Sales & Marketing and the customer, and setup a detailed Field Service planning for the outages.

What You Bring

  • Background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering & 5 years relevant work experience
  • Good contract Leadership skills, to ensure that all scope is equality coordinated in the contract and been paid for (Change Order Management)
  • Customer Orientation to achieve the highest customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent listening & communication skills.
  • Build long term positive relationship with the customer.
  • Structured way of working, in accordance with our ‘Project Excellence’ at Siemens Energy, so as to guarantee outage execution within time and Budget, and avoid surprises.
  • Strong sense of responsibility & safety (Zero Harm culture)
  • Teammate: work as ‘one team’ with all our internal departments and external suppliers who support you in making the outage a success
  • High curiosity & Good technical insight allow you to lead the specialists to adequately solve all the known and upcoming technical challenges
  • Excellent Spanish & English language skills, German is an important plus
  • Willing to travel 20% and to be onsite during the outages.

About the Team

You are working in a team of 5 project managers in Spain, serving the Spanish market, in close collaboration with the Sales Team. Siemens Energy is a global network of factories and specialists, depending on the project ahead, you will form ‘one team’ with the relevant specialists to serve the customer.

As part of the Europe & Africa PM organization, you have a good intercultural awareness and are open to work also on international projects outside of Spain to a certain extent.
