A Snapshot of Your Day

Siemens Energy is looking for a project manager with hands-on industrial equipment expertise! The project manager is responsible for project planning and oversight of planned activities from beginning to end. The selected candidate balances budgets, keeps track of work in progress, collaborates with suppliers, handles risks, and ensures projects are completed per schedule/budget.

Work with engineering, drafting, supply chain management, manufacturing, quality, and shipping to ensure the overall scope of supply per the quotation proposals is achieved. The successful candidate will connect with all levels of the organization, for example, explaining requirements to skilled craftspeople, technically supporting the scope of supply to other professionals, or resolving customer concerns and will run large multi-faceted projects and multiple projects at the same time. This position requires travel so the selected candidate will have a valid driver’s license, passport and ability to travel by plane!

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Take full ownership of the order entry, scope, budget, related key meetings, and schedule for projects assigned; Strong understanding of contract provisions; Regularly inform functional representatives of salient provisions, and ensuring organizational compliance with all requirements.
  • Create and maintain project plans and master project timeline; Effectively report progress and status while documenting all technical and commercial contractual agreements, and manage project scope via Contract Change Authorizations while developing project-specific risk management plans; proactively manage risk throughout project execution to minimize company exposure.
  • Manage and maintain the project budget, initiate and facilitate corrective actions to maintain financial objectives and revenue recognition. Positively influence financial position, via cash flow management, working with internal accounting, and the client to ensure timely issue and collection of invoices related to key payments.
  • Support the project through the warranty phase, working with the Commissioning Team members to address installation, startup, or warranty issues.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and management to develop relationships that are conducive to the successful completion of the project.
  • Facilitate Lessons Learned meetings for all projects; identify corrective actions, and solicit a Customer Satisfaction Survey as part of the contract closure process.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or a related field required.
  • 8+ years of experience in industrial equipment or related industries (ex. Familiar with centrifugal and/or reciprocating compressors, gas, and/or steam turbines); combined experience in project management and leading teams is preferred; Those with more experience may be considered for a more senior level role.
  • Knowledge of project management concepts, practices and procedures, and schedule management tools (e.g. MS Project or equivalent) is preferred; Professional project management certification is also a strong plus.
  • Leadership skills including problem-solving, big-picture focus, sophisticated and linear thinking, while efficiently working in time-sensitive situations.
  • Must have strong oral & written communication skills to prepare & make presentations to any internal /external client level.
  • Candidate should be self-motivated, well-organized, have good listening skills, and concisely relay accurate information to others

This job may be based in Olean, NY. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay.
