Shift: 2nd shift - 1 Opening

Overview:
The primary purpose of this position is to perform duties in the Quality Department with minimal supervision. Processes related to metallurgical lab practices such as (but not limited to) preparing test sample validations, test coupons for special processes, etc. according to quality and customer requirements.

Job Responsibilities:
THE FOLLOWING ARE THE MAJOR JOB DUTIES BUT THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT
PRECLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OF OTHER DUTIES BY THE INCUMBENT.

•Must be able to follow written instructions/procedures to perform required analysis
Operations.
•Must be familiar with metallurgical processes to “Industry Standards and Practices.”
•Must be capable of performing required tests of “Special Process” test coupons in a
timely manner.
•Must be capable of preparing test samples for microscopic evaluation. These samples
include but are not limited to: bend tests, coating evaluations, failure analysis, etc.


Education/Job Knowledge Requirements:
This position requires the equivalent of a high school education.  Also requires an Associate’s Degree or 1-2 years and or Vocational technical training. Requires the ability to read, write, complete simple forms, and understand simple written instructions. Requires the ability to perform math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Experience:
Must have 0-6 months experience working in a metallurgical lab/ laboratory environment.  Must have the ability to read and write using measuring instrument (conversion microns to mil etc..).

Job Prerequisites

Must has successfully completed Industrial Reading test with score of 80% or better
Must have successfully completed shop math test with a score of 80% or better
Must have successfully completed measuring instruments test with a score of 80% or better
