A Snapshot of Your Day

Siemens Energy Canada is looking to grow its marine division.  This role leads all aspects of Marine development strategies for profitable penetration into the Canadian Navy, Government marine and commercial segments: 

  • Lead the development and execution of market and account plans to ensure achievement of assigned business goals.
  • Guide business development within assigned key accounts and/or markets.
  • Develop relationship and sponsorship with key decision-makers at key shipyards.
  • Lead sales opportunities to develop sales strategy, and support the technical solution development and proposals phases
  • The role will report to the Head of Marine Sales Americas and the Canadian Business unit head

How You’ll Make an Impact

  •  Lead the overall sales development process for the Canadian marine customers for both new vessels and service work
  • Responsible for Opportunity discovery & qualification; strategy setting & development; identifying and influencing key decision makers; and successfully navigating complex internal & external selling environments.
  • Exercise solid business acumen to develop and articulate a winning value proposition while maintaining company growth and profit guidelines.
  • Responsible for Forecasting in assigned accounts –Accuracy/quality of forecast/ Sales funnel 
  • Work closely with the engineering, commercial and executing teams for every new project. 
  • Develop and nurture client relationships and continually create new ones by active onsite visits and engagement sessions. Capture and share customer intelligence

What You Bring 

  • Marine networking experience
  • Previous Experience related to propulsion, power or control systems
  • Previous sales and business development experience
  • Technical degree or experience in electrical engineering fields
  • Good working knowledge in automation, controls, protection, drive systems, power systems, motors, electrical integration with a willingness and aptitude to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills with good understanding of English.  French knowledge is bonus. 
  • Ability to understand and manage internal and external customers expectations and generally operate independently.
  • Willing to travel within Canada, ~50% travel (based on location)
  • Demonstrates Knowledge of Federal procurement process.
  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge in Marine electrical, automation and propulsion applications and solutions.
  • Demonstrates Knowledge of Marine market with contacts at shipyards, owners, operator and naval architects
  • Previous experience selling large, capital new build projects.
