A Snapshot of Your Day
A Manufacturing Leadman in a shop setting plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations and achieving production goals. This position will oversee daily shop floor operations, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and quality. Key responsibilities include supervising production workers, optimizing workflows, maintaining equipment, and ensuring on-time delivery. The role involves people management, enforcing safety protocols, and fostering a collaborative work environment. The Leadman also implements continuous improvement initiatives and maintains clear communication with management and team members to meet production goals and uphold high standards.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Oversee daily manufacturing activities to ensure production targets are met. Monitor and report on production metrics. Supervise and coordinate the activities of production workers.
- Implement strategies to optimize workflow and reduce downtime. Continuously seek ways to improve manufacturing processes, eliminate bottlenecks and reduce waste. Ensure optimal use of resources, including materials and labor.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team for regular inspections and repairs. Plan and schedule production activities to meet delivery deadlines. Implement preventive maintenance schedules to avoid unexpected breakdowns.
- Ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications. Implement quality control procedures and conduct regular inspections. Address any quality issues promptly to prevent defects.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety training and drills. Address any safety concerns or incidents immediately.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and other departments. Provide regular updates to management on production status and any issues. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement among team members.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED that can be verified; Relevant certifications in manufacturing or production management is a plus.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Previous supervisory or leadership experience is highly preferred; Flexibility to work different shifts or overtime, including weekends, as needed.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Good understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety standards. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must adapt to fast-paced environment and have strong organizational and time-management skills; Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook. Knowledge with SAP is a plus
- Familiarity with machinery and equipment used in the manufacturing process and knowledge of maintenance procedures and preventive maintenance practices is a plus
