A Snapshot of Your Day

This full-time role involves operating manual and CNC machines, repairing and testing tooling and equipment, and supporting design and documentation efforts. Responsibilities include fixing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, maintaining tool inventory, and collaborating with engineering and field teams. Must follow safety protocols and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required. Responsibilities entail resolving mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system challenges, supervising tool inventory, and optimally engaging with engineering and field teams. Must follow safety protocols and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Enforce to all safety laws/policies and wear appropriate personal protective gear.
  • Operate manual and/or CNC machinery including but not limited to lathes, mills, grinders, drill press etc.
  • Develop design concepts, layout components, identify/specify material requirements, machine components, modify, repair, assemble and test a wide range of tooling fixtures and equipment.
  • Inspect and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical equipment, including parts replacement.
  • Provide machining/drilling/cutting tool expertise in support of the tool crib.
  • Develop/document inspection, test and repair procedures for tooling and equipment.
  • Resolve minimum stocking levels for key repair parts, raw material, and other machining supplies. Recommend and implement tooling improvements and upgrades to improve reliability and efficiency in their field applications.
  • Consult with field and project personnel regarding selection, field setup and application of tooling. Work with engineering on drawing improvements and documentation of enhancements.

What You Bring

  • Journeyman certified or a min of 10 years of equivalent machining experience.
  • Sophisticated training and knowledge in machine shop practices, including use of machine tools, shop math and interpretation of design drawings/blueprints.
  • Capable, consistent record to use precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, etc.) Capable of using hand tools and power tools.
  • 10-years’ experience preferred.

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing/service center environment. Individual work involves frequent lifting of materials and equipment up to a maximum of 50lbs. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle and/or adjust equipment. Moderate reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping, and grasping. Occasional use of ladders and stairs; must be able to ascend and descend. Requires the use of safety equipment including personal protective equipment. This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week. Occasional overtime, evening and weekend work may be required to meet business demands
