Your responsibilities

  • Business development, working directly with country MD (Primary Role)
    • Discover high impact, bold partnership opportunities (cross border M&A and partnership including JV, equity investment, joint R&D, joint marketing, etc.) that can be endorsed by the Siemens Energy AP Hub head and ultimately by the Executive Board
    • Develop win-win deal options that appeal both to the top tier Korean conglomerate’s owners, C-level executives and SE’s executives in Asia Pacific and Global HQ
    • Persuade, shape, and negotiate key opportunities with potential partners and customers
    • Engage stakeholders in a few of the following topics:
      • Hydrogen
      • Opportunities in Gas/hydrogen turbines
      • Decarbonization
      • Energy storage, VPP
    • Lead high level business case development and financial modeling
  • Conventional KAM
    • Identify key customers’ priority needs and pain points
    • Identify and shape major sales opportunities
    • Co-create high impact and feasible options to fix the key customer issues, together with management at SE headquarters

Your profile

  • Proven expertise in business development including related roles (7 years or more experience at top tier chaebols, MNCs in the energy/industrial sectors, management consulting or financial advisory firms)
  • You should have experience with the following activities
    • Deal opportunity generation with compelling rationale
    • Business case development, business modeling
    • Deal option generation and prioritization
    • Build and analyze financial models to uncover opportunities and simulate scenarios
    • Identify possible financing options
    • Years of experience managing and directing large, complex international projects successfully (from proposal management to negotiations up to realization.) is a plus
  • Understanding of technologies in the new energy sector (engineering or science degree in chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering). Need not cover all. Expertise in a few areas with capabilities to learn other areas will be good enough. Sub areas include;
    • Decarbonization, with competency in power generation, petrochemical, LNG, steel, etc.
    • Hydrogen: production, storage, transportation, use
    • Energy storage, offshore wind, VPP
    • Gas and hydrogen-co firing turbines, combined heat and power
  • Full proficiency both in English and Korean. Should be fully functioning in Korean business culture and setting
  • Self-initiation: opportunity identification and prioritization, deal shaping, contribute to the deal making
  • Able to work independently and effectively with individuals from multiple cultures and backgrounds
  • Deep understanding of potential partners’ strategic priorities, partnership goals, behaviors and pain points are plus
  • Possess full working rights to work in Korea
