Position Overview/Summary 

Siemens Energy, Industrial Applications, is hiring a Sales Manager to join our team in India & South Asia to develop New Equipment Project Opportunities from conceptual phase through order entry in the region. The Industrial Applications (erstwhile O&G) business unit comprises of the widest portfolio of rotating equipment in the market, ranging from industrial and aero gas turbines in the 5 to 60MW range, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors. The Sales Manager acts as the project or market champion within the BU and will cover the upstream, midstream and downstream O&G market in the region. The role will have a single face responsibility with the assigned O&G customers for all products under the BU. The customers are commonly the international and national oil companies, engineering consultants, licensors and EPCs. Significant sales growth in the assigned / defined territory is expected. This position will report to the O&G Sales Leader in India. The incumbent manages the client interface, including presenting the value proposition and negotiating contractual terms. This role will support client activity during the business development phase, identifying the evaluators, influencing persons and decision-makers that are key to the project.


Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
  • Must have a minimum of ten (10) years related work experience.
  • Must have rotating equipment sales and/or capital project business development experience, preferably within the oil & gas industry.
  • Must have a good understanding of machine design, thermodynamic principles and compressor and or gas turbine performance application theory.
  • Must possess a strong and confident presence in front of client.
  • Must be customer driven, a high achiever and a creative thinker.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Multi language skills

Your responsibilities

  • Establish / lead the work plan with Proposal Development and Product Engineering and the product services account manager as Opportunity Pursuit Team members.
  • Engage with Commercial Sales Manager for Legal/Contract Administration, Finance/Credit,
  • Business Solutions, Controls Systems, Product Services business unit managers, and company management as necessary.
  • Manage preparation of the technical and commercial proposal, including the preparation of price recommendations based on market information, preparation of the value proposition, and completion of the risk assessment and project cash flow analysis per guidelines.
  • Prepare business activity and forecast reports and deliver technical and commercial presentations for management and clients.
  • Act in a business-like manner with regard to expenses, and meet the Siemens Energy sales, bookings, and earnings objectives while representing the client to Siemens Energy and ensuring they are treated fairly.
  • Establish and maintain a preferred provider relationship with the key decision-makers and influencers within client organizations
  • Develop Regional Marketing & Sales Plans while pro-actively developing opportunities.
  • Routinely present to customers in both small and large forums an overview of Siemens Energy, our go to market approach, and our capabilities.
  • Monitor market activity and trends, including our competition, and providing feedback to the proposal team per Siemens Energy guidelines.
